Webster gives the word at least three meanings, all of which describe award winner, Gwinnett County Marketing and Account Manager Melissa Blaurock, perfectly. Moxie, (n): 1. energy, pep, vigor; 2. courage, perseverance, nerve, aggressiveness; 3. know-how, proficiency, savvy & skills.
Sponsored by Atlanta’s Northside Hospital, the ceremony for the “Moxie Influence Award” paid tribute to women that are… “making it happen!” Melissa became a finalist after being nominated by the Northeast Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.
Fitting that the “Moxie” recognition went to someone who had only worked with Rytech for seven months. Neither was it a shock that she works for one of Rytech’s “winningest” collection of franchises. Owners, Brian Larmon and Anthony Curtis took only four years to turn their group, now consisting of five Rytech Franchises, into some of the most successful in the country—Gwinnett is one of two franchises they own in Georgia.
“Needless to say, in addition to Brian and Anthony, I am also super proud of Melissa” exclaims Marketing Director, Tonya Baughman who also takes care of business development and heads a six-member marketing team for the entire franchise group. Tonya, who interviewed Melissa for the position, said “Melissa has a remarkable attitude, which I immediately noticed. I left the interview knowing she was the one I wanted to hire!”
It became increasingly apparent during her training phase that Melissa was destined to make a huge difference for the Gwinnett territory.
Over 500 people attended the ceremony at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth Georgia. That includes a surprise visit from Tonya. “I wanted to be there in person to support her moment of tears” she said, during her own tearful moment.
“Melissa is not only great at connecting, but also at consistently getting jobs. Her perseverance is remarkable.”
Success is often about people and hiring the right ones. This has led the entire franchise team to not only have individual winners like Melissa but, to reach many team milestones as well.
In only its’ fourth year this franchise cluster has realized the following notable accomplishments:
1. It won the 2021 Franchise of the Year - Rytech Restoration Columbia Office - including numerous awards for sales at its’ other offices - Upstate, Pee Dee & Gwinnett County Atlanta.
2. It had the highest sales of all Rytech operations in the country - 2 years running.
3. It won the 2nd annual Storm Trooper Award--honoring a franchise that travels and assists with large catastrophe events around the country--I.E Hurricane Ida in New Orleans, 2021.
4. It opened its’ newest shop in the Marietta area of Greater Atlanta (Gwinnett County).
Congratulations to the entire Gwinnett location and especially the member with all the “Moxie” … Melissa Blaurock.
